Responsibilities
Advise multinational clients on regulatory exposure and risk management related to sanctions
Provide strategic, multidisciplinary advice tailored to operational realities in high-risk markets
Collaborate with sanctions specialists in different jurisdictions
Manage internal investigations and voluntary disclosures
Engage with regulators and manage litigation risk
Requirements
Qualified solicitor with demonstrable post-qualification experience in white collar crime, regulatory investigations, or sanctions compliance within a leading law firm or reputable in-house team
Proven experience advising on complex internal and external investigations, including matters involving allegations of fraud, bribery and corruption, money laundering, or regulatory misconduct
Strong working knowledge of UK and international sanctions regimes (including UK, EU, US/OFAC), with experience advising on sanctions risk, compliance frameworks, and enforcement exposure
Experience engaging with and responding to regulators and enforcement authorities (e.g. SFO, FCA, HMRC, NCA), including drafting submissions and managing information requests
Ability to advise clients on financial crime risk management, compliance policies, and governance frameworks in a commercial and pragmatic manner
Excellent legal analysis and drafting skills, with the ability to produce clear, concise advice under time pressure
Experience working on cross-border matters, collaborating effectively with international counsel and multidisciplinary teams
Strong client-handling skills, with the confidence to manage day-to-day client relationships and contribute to business development initiatives
Commercial awareness and an understanding of the regulatory and reputational risks faced by global corporates, insurers, and financial institutions
Highly organised, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple workstreams simultaneously while maintaining high professional standards.
