About the role

  • Associate role in Clyde & Co’s Regulatory & Investigations team advising multinational clients on sanctions compliance. Collaborating with diverse teams to provide effective, commercially focused solutions to complex legal issues.

Responsibilities

  • Advise multinational clients on regulatory exposure and risk management related to sanctions
  • Provide strategic, multidisciplinary advice tailored to operational realities in high-risk markets
  • Collaborate with sanctions specialists in different jurisdictions
  • Manage internal investigations and voluntary disclosures
  • Engage with regulators and manage litigation risk

Requirements

  • Qualified solicitor with demonstrable post-qualification experience in white collar crime, regulatory investigations, or sanctions compliance within a leading law firm or reputable in-house team
  • Proven experience advising on complex internal and external investigations, including matters involving allegations of fraud, bribery and corruption, money laundering, or regulatory misconduct
  • Strong working knowledge of UK and international sanctions regimes (including UK, EU, US/OFAC), with experience advising on sanctions risk, compliance frameworks, and enforcement exposure
  • Experience engaging with and responding to regulators and enforcement authorities (e.g. SFO, FCA, HMRC, NCA), including drafting submissions and managing information requests
  • Ability to advise clients on financial crime risk management, compliance policies, and governance frameworks in a commercial and pragmatic manner
  • Excellent legal analysis and drafting skills, with the ability to produce clear, concise advice under time pressure
  • Experience working on cross-border matters, collaborating effectively with international counsel and multidisciplinary teams
  • Strong client-handling skills, with the confidence to manage day-to-day client relationships and contribute to business development initiatives
  • Commercial awareness and an understanding of the regulatory and reputational risks faced by global corporates, insurers, and financial institutions
  • Highly organised, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple workstreams simultaneously while maintaining high professional standards.
