About the role
- Models Engineer bridging the gap between cutting-edge AI models and developers at Cloudflare. Identifying model partnerships and creating educational content for developers.
Responsibilities
- Identify and evaluate promising new models. Work directly with external model teams — research labs, open-source maintainers, and partner organizations — to bring their work to Cloudflare. Serve as the technical point of contact through integration and launch.
- Author tutorials, technical blog posts, and documentation that help developers understand and adopt our AI offerings. Make complex concepts accessible.
- Actively participate in developer communities like Discord. Provide technical support, gather feedback, and build relationships with developers and contributors.
- Build demos, sample applications, and reference implementations that showcase what's possible with Cloudflare's AI infrastructure.
- Synthesize feedback from developers and model partners into actionable insights for Product and Engineering teams. Influence roadmap, API design, and feature prioritization.
- Present at conferences, meetups, and online events through technical talks, workshops, and live demonstrations.
Requirements
- Strong experience with Python and ML frameworks (PyTorch, Hugging Face Transformers and Diffusers, Cog)
- Portfolio of technical writing — blog posts, documentation, tutorials — that demonstrates clear explanation of complex topics
- Experience presenting technical content at conferences, meetups, or through video content
- Active participation in developer communities. You're visible, helpful, and engaged
- Track record of working with external teams — whether open-source maintainers, research groups, or partner engineering teams
- Can build end-to-end applications that integrate models and serve as examples for developers
- Familiarity with Cloudflare Workers or serverless/edge architectures (Nice-to-Have)
- Full-stack experience (JavaScript/TypeScript) for building complete applications (Nice-to-Have)
- Experience with model fine-tuning or vector databases (Nice-to-Have)
- Background in ML research or contributions to model development (Nice-to-Have)
- Experience with image, video, or audio models (Nice-to-Have)
