About the role
- Behavioral Health Therapist providing outpatient assessments and therapy for children and adolescents at risk. Supporting the Suicide Prevention Program in a respected healthcare organization.
Responsibilities
- Provide outpatient assessments, short term therapy, safety planning, and care navigation for children and adolescents at risk for suicide, self-harm, or other mental health crises
- Provide individual, group, and family therapy with a clinical focus across a broad spectrum of mental health conditions including anxiety, depression, bipolar disorder, and schizophrenia
- Consult with team members, statutory/voluntary agencies and relatives to ensure compliance with the patient treatment plan
- Act as a liaison between patients, families, community support workers and facilities to obtain information and facilitate discharge planning
- Supervise and/or train lower-level social workers, students or interns
Requirements
- Master’s Degree in Social Work, Counseling or a related field
- Licensed Independent Social Worker (LISW), or Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC), or Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) or Licensed Social Worker (LSW) with no record of substantiated ethics or patient abuse reports
- Three years of experience in a behavioral health setting
- Comprehensive knowledge of current psychotherapeutic techniques, theories and practices sufficient to evaluate, diagnose and counsel patients
