About the role
- Test Automation Engineer creating and maintaining test automation frameworks primarily for APIs. Collaborate across teams in a hybrid role based in Dresden, Germany.
Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain a robust and scalable test automation framework with a focus on API and software platform testing in a distributed systems environment
- Design and execute automated tests (e.g., API, integration, E2E) to validate the functionality, scalability, performance, and security of platform services and APIs
- Integrate automated tests into the CI/CD pipeline to ensure continuous testing and rapid feedback
- Support platform teams in integrating and running their own automated tests within the platform test automation suite
- Co-develop test strategies and test plans and provide clear, precise automated test reports
- Work closely with other platform teams to create comprehensive test reporting
Requirements
- Degree in Computer Science or a comparable field
- ISTQB certification required
- Experience in designing, developing, and implementing test automation frameworks with a strong emphasis on API, integration, and E2E testing
- Experience testing complex distributed systems and microservice architectures
- Ideally, experience with Kubernetes and containers (Docker)
- Knowledge of test automation tools and frameworks (e.g., Postman, Integrate, Swagger UI, RestAssured, JUnit, TestNG, Robot Framework)
- Experience with scripting languages (e.g., Python)
- Very good spoken and written German required
