About the role

  • Data Scientist developing and implementing simulation models for predictive analysis and design optimization at BMW TechWorks Romania. Collaborating with engineers and domain experts to analyze large datasets and integrate data science solutions.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement data science models and workflows using simulation tools such as ABAQUS, LS-DYNA or similar to support predictive analysis and design optimization
  • Collaborate with simulation engineers and domain experts to extract, process, and analyze large volumes of simulation data for machine learning and statistical models
  • Design data pipelines for cleaning, transforming, and preparing simulation data for analysis
  • Create and maintain documentation related to data processes, models, and workflows
  • Define and manage data science projects, ensuring deliverables are aligned with usability, accuracy, performance, scalability, and security requirements
  • Analyze and resolve data quality issues and inconsistencies in simulation outputs
  • Develop advanced statistical models and machine learning workflows to optimize system performance
  • Provide expertise and mentorship on the integration of simulation data into data science methodologies
  • Ensure seamless integration of data science solutions into broader business processes

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in data science and simulation engineering or related areas
  • Hands-on expertise with simulation tools such as ABAQUS, LS-DYNA, or similar
  • Advanced proficiency in Python and data science libraries (PyTorch, Keras, TensorFlow, Pandas, NumPy, Scikit-Learn, etc.)
  • Familiarity with machine learning techniques, statistical modeling, and dimensional data analysis
  • Experience in designing and managing data pipelines, including data warehousing and ETL processes.
  • Knowledge of SQL or NoSQL databases for managing and querying large-scale data
  • Strong conceptual, analytical, and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication skills in English (verbal and written)
  • German proficiency is a plus
