About the role

  • Corporate Communications & Public Affairs Specialist responsible for developing external communications strategies for Medline. Managing media relations, creating content, and collaborating across teams in a dynamic healthcare company.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, manage, and execute Medline’s external communications strategy and plan.
  • Produce news stories, press releases, media pitches, and Q&A briefings.
  • Announce mergers, acquisitions, and other major corporate milestones.
  • Partner with the Communications Manager and external media agency to identify earned media opportunities across Europe.
  • Create and maintain a digital Press Room on the Medline EMEA website.
  • Build relationships with key media outlets across Europe.
  • Collaborate with videographers and production teams to develop high‑quality multimedia content.
  • Capture stories, conduct on‑camera interviews, and produce video materials.
  • Write scripts and shape narrative flow for corporate and news-style content.
  • Own editorial processes to ensure consistency and quality.
  • Sub-edit and proofread content submissions.
  • Provide coaching and editorial guidance to colleagues to elevate overall standards.
  • Support public affairs initiatives, including C-suite briefings and external stakeholder engagements.
  • Provide updates and insights on external stakeholders in close collaboration with the Internal Communications Manager.
  • Lead cross-functional content and campaign projects.
  • Build strong partnerships with senior leadership, business unit leaders, and external partners.
  • Serve as a trusted advisor on crisis communication and sensitive reputation management issues.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in communications, journalism, public affairs or a related field.
  • At least five years of experience in corporate communications, journalism or public affairs.
  • Proven expertise in journalism, editing and storytelling for diverse audiences, including end‑to‑end video content creation.
  • Experience in media relations and the ability to manage press inquiries proactively and strategically.
  • Excellent written and spoken English.
  • Willingness to travel across EMEA (up to 30%).
  • Strong project management and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • Ability to perform under pressure and a track record of delivering high-quality results.
  • Knowledge of the healthcare sector or European healthcare systems is a strong plus.
