About the role

  • Nuclear Med Tech Lead at Advocate Health managing imaging services, team training, and quality improvement initiatives. Responsible for patient education and procedural accuracy in the nuclear medicine department.

Responsibilities

  • Acts as a resource, role model, and/or preceptor to employees and students
  • Assigns, monitors, and reviews progress and accuracy of work
  • Assists with human resource responsibilities
  • Facilitates clinical problem solving and collaborates with other departments
  • Participates in quality improvement, patient safety or cost containment initiatives
  • Injects all radiopharmaceuticals and pharmacologic stress agents used in procedures
  • Communicates with patients to ensure understanding of the process
  • Performs routine and advanced imaging studies and procedures
  • Maintains health information records and documentation

Requirements

  • Nuclear Medicine Technologist certification (CNMT) or Nuclear Medicine Tech (N) registration (NMTCB or ARRT)
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers certification
  • Bachelor's Degree in Nuclear Medicine Technology, Biology, or related field
  • Typically requires 5 years of experience in a nuclear medicine technologist role
