About the role
- Project Manager responsible for hydropower projects in a hybrid role at Black & Veatch. Leading design, construction, and execution efforts for multiple hydropower initiatives with client interactions.
Responsibilities
- Own and deliver multiple hydropower, hydraulic structures and dams projects, including capital improvements, equipment refurbishment and upgrades, lifecycle extension programs, regulatory compliance projects, and dam safety improvements.
- Provide technical support for client projects covering all hydropower technologies including small hydropower, conventional hydropower, and pumped storage.
- Oversee EPC vendors and contractors and coordinate with internal and external stakeholders to manage risks and ensure successful project execution.
- Serve as the primary client interface with assigned clients to assist in developing client relationships and identification of new project opportunities including pre-positioning for favorable consideration by the client.
- Support business development efforts by leading proposal development in response to client RFPs.
- Join the West Region Hydropower Leadership team, who is responsible for defining strategic marketing and execution strategies as well as making project and team staff decisions.
Requirements
- 12+ years of experience in design and construction of hydropower, hydraulic structures, or dams projects
- 7+ years of experience in Project Management with full responsibility for the outcome of the project
- Previous experience with engineering projects in a utility power plant setting
- Previous experience in a client facing role
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
