About the role
- Platform Engineer developing Kubernetes solutions supporting multi-tenant platforms at Bundesdruckerei in Berlin. Collaborating on innovative digital solutions for identity and data protection.
Responsibilities
- Support the operation of a central multi‑tenant platform hosting more than 80 applications
- Develop and operate shared enterprise Kubernetes clusters, container storage (Ceph), logging/monitoring, operators (Golang), message brokers (pub/sub & streaming), and service mesh/Istio
- Evaluate new technologies and pursue continuous professional development
- Document best-practice approaches and support cross-departmental knowledge sharing
- Ensure automation and the versioned representation of infrastructure as code
Requirements
- Degree or vocational training in computer science or an equivalent qualification, plus practical experience administering enterprise Kubernetes clusters
- Experience applying Infrastructure-as-Code principles (Terraform, Ansible) and automation/manifestation using CI/CD (GitOps, GitFlow)
- Focus on telemetry & observability (metrics, logging, tracing)
- Experience with virtual and bare-metal infrastructures
- Confident use of container storage technologies (Ceph) and secrets management (HashiCorp Vault)
- Shell and coding experience (Python, Golang, BASH)
- Strong networking knowledge (routing, NAT, firewall, VLAN)
- Very good spoken and written German and English (at least B2)
