About the role
- SQL Developer working within a team to design and manage SQL Server solutions for data processing. Responsible for client data manipulation, troubleshooting, and performance tuning.
Responsibilities
- Work within the development team reporting to the Database team Manager
- Responsible for design, development and management of high quality, efficient and effective solutions in Microsoft SQL Server T-SQL and related tools
- Manipulate customer data in a production environment
- Provide technical knowhow on projects and work with third parties to provide information about the Bromcom database structure
- Designing, developing, and maintaining appropriately scaled, effective solutions to support data cleansing and reconciliation activities
- Manage MS SQL Server database environments that support data backups and recoveries in test and prod environments
- Assist in the development effort behind REST APIs
- Write complex scripts for data manipulation to support customer data processing and reconciliation activities
- Liaise with internal stakeholders to gather requirements, provide updates, and support business needs
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues relating to live customer data within production environments
- Analyse database objects including Functions, Stored Procedures, Tables, and other SQL Server components
- Review and analyse SQL code to identify potential flaws, inefficiencies, and areas for improvement
- Maintain and support existing REST web APIs
- Optimise and maintain existing database-driven products and solutions
- Perform performance tuning on new and existing SQL code to ensure efficiency and scalability
Requirements
- 3+ years of SQL Developer experience and administrating/supporting MS SQL Server Database infrastructures in large-scale environment
- Substantial experience of SQL programming and good knowledge of the techniques and the functionality and capabilities of MS SQL Server 2017 and above
- A strong background in data modelling, data management and data manipulation, code management and version control (GIT) is also important, as is having good attention to detail
- Basic knowledge of C# and ASP.net programming
- Basic experience of accessing REST APIs
