About the role

  • Reservoir Engineer optimizing U.S. unconventional oil and gas assets for bpx energy. Driving technical excellence and collaboration across multiple development teams in the organization.

Responsibilities

  • Provide technical expertise as a Reservoir Engineering Subject Matter Expert
  • Drive value into bpx development assets through well performance optimization, cashflow generation, and process improvement
  • Own stakeholder relationships and maintain communications regarding project status
  • Evaluate and pursue innovative proposals in reservoir engineering
  • Support business development team in acquisitions, divestitures, and yearly reserves materials preparation
  • Analyze and communicate financial impacts of technical studies and technology trials

Requirements

  • Bachelor's or higher degree in Petroleum Engineering or other relevant engineering fields
  • Minimum of 10 years of industry experience working as a Reservoir Engineer in U.S. unconventional plays
  • Strong technical background in unconventional assets with recent experience supporting active rig programs
  • Excellent communication skills
  • A track record of strong integration across multiple disciplines, teamwork, and mentoring
  • Demonstrated ability to succeed in fast-paced and lean work environments by embracing change & adapting quickly
  • Demonstrated ability to address technical projects through the lens of business outcomes such as IRR and NPV
  • Track record of a growth mindset in terms of problem solving, resilience, and continuous improvement
  • Attention to detail and demonstrated ability to understand and analyze complex issues, manage uncertainty and risk, integrate multiple data sources, and make data-driven decisions
  • Experience with Rate Transient Analysis (Whitson preferred) and other unconventional reservoir evaluation and surveillance techniques.
