About the role

  • Senior Mechanical Engineer leading a team in developing water treatment systems. Focused on optimizing engineering designs and processes in the water and wastewater treatment industry.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with Engineering Team to work closely with talented engineers to optimize designs from a production standpoint
  • Work with Project Managers to allocate resources to support project needs
  • Coordinate Engineering Workflow and Documentation to ensure alignment between engineering disciplines and enforce documentation standards that align with BluMetric Quality Management Systems and ISO 9001-2015
  • Oversee Fabrication/Assembly Processes to align with designed engineering package; work closely with Production Manager to oversee production of containerized water treatment systems, ensuring efficiency and quality
  • Optimize Workflows by implementing process improvements to enhance productivity and reduce costs
  • Coordinate with new and existing suppliers and subcontractors to improve and expand production capabilities
  • Lead product development and configuration management as the Technical Authority for Mechanical Design
  • Write and review technical reports, and construction specifications
  • Support the Business Development team as required at conferences and tradeshows and bid submission
  • Conduct technical reviews of proposals and engineering packages, and will sign and stamp reports, design briefs, and drawings as required
  • SolidWorks PDM management
  • FEA and/or CFD analysis
  • Assist in site work as required

Requirements

  • Degree in Mechanical Engineering from an accredited school
  • Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) designation in Canada
  • Minimum 10 years in industrial product development and configuration management
  • Defence industry experience considered an asset
  • Experience leading Product and Logistics Support Analysis (LSA) activities such as Functional Analysis; Failures Modes, Effects and Criticality Analysis; Reliability Centered Maintenance Analysis; Level of Repair Analysis; Maintenance Task Analysis and Sparing Analysis
  • Experience in pump sizing and selection and hydraulic system design
  • Familiarity with welding design and specifications
  • Experience with ASME B31.3 Process Piping
  • Extensive experience generating/checking production ready engineering drawings
  • Experience with SolidWorks PDM is considered an asset
  • Ability to interact, be able to work in a project team environment with all types of clients and teammates; proactive and able to manage time well; able to build relationships
  • Travel and periods away from your normal place of work may be required
  • A valid driver’s license is required
  • Currently holds or is eligible to obtain Secret Status security clearance.
