Responsibilities
Lead, mentor, and develop a team of Software Development Engineers delivering clinical trial data capture solutions
Design, develop, deploy, and maintain software applications aligned with study specifications and regulatory standards
Oversee build and deployment of test and production databases
Collaborate cross-functionally with Product, Quality, Design, Translations, and Project Management teams
Participate in architectural decisions and the full software development lifecycle
Manage complex, customized client implementations
Ensure operational readiness including pilot projects, internal validation, and experimental development initiatives
Maintain coding standards and best practices within a regulated environment (ISO, FDA, 21 CFR Part 11)
Conduct peer code reviews across varying complexity levels
Act as a technical subject matter expert within the codebase and system architecture
Investigate and resolve high-impact technical production issues
Drive continuous improvement initiatives (tools, automation, process optimization, Kaizen)
Communicate project timelines, scope, risks, and technical decisions clearly to stakeholders
Support documentation and compliance requirements including SWIs and validation documentation
Manage resource planning and ensure team productivity and delivery excellence
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field (or equivalent practical experience)
5–7+ years of professional software development experience
Prior experience in a regulated environment (e.g., ISO 9001, FDA 21 CFR Part 11)
Strong expertise in one or more of the following technologies: .NET, C#, Java, C++, iOS, Android
Experience with web technologies including JavaScript (ES6), asynchronous programming, CSS, XML, JSON
Strong working knowledge of SQL and relational databases
Experience with version control and issue tracking tools (GitLab, TFS, JIRA, Visual Studio, Eclipse)
Experience working within Agile, SCRUM, Kanban, or Waterfall methodologies
Demonstrated leadership experience managing engineers or leading technical initiatives
Ability to prioritize multiple projects in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
Strong communication skills with the ability to influence cross-functional teams.
