About the role

  • Applied AI Engineer at a leading public affairs AI startup in Brussels. Developing LLM features and collaborating with cross-functional teams in a hybrid work setting.

Responsibilities

  • Take end-to-end ownership of LLM agent features and AI workflows
  • Design, build, and ship new AI-driven features from concept to production
  • Improve output quality, reliability, and usability through iteration and refinement
  • Collaborate closely with product, design, our customers, and commercial teams to define and evolve workflows
  • Integrate AI-driven features into the broader product experience
  • Balance development speed with robustness, maintainability, and cost considerations
  • Identify limitations and edge cases in AI outputs and implement practical mitigations
  • Stay informed on developments in LLM technology and assess when they are relevant for the product

Requirements

  • Experience building and shipping LLM-powered features in production
  • Experience with Typescript, Next.js, GCP and Kubernetes
  • Strong understanding of current LLM capabilities and limitations
  • Product mindset and focus on user value, not just technical novelty
  • Comfort with ownership, ambiguity, and evolving requirements
  • Ability to collaborate closely with non-technical stakeholders
  • Enjoyment of fast-paced startup environments
