Responsibilities
Collaborate closely with Product and Design teams to assess new designs' feasibility and define product requirements.
Create detailed 3D models and renderings, and produce fully dimensioned 2D drawings reflecting design intent.
Conduct thorough mechanical analyses of structures, enclosures, mechanisms, and assemblies.
Optimize designs by applying your extensive knowledge of engineering materials and manufacturing processes.
Build and refine functional prototypes to test and validate your designs.
Lead user experience and technical feasibility reviews to ensure optimal product performance.
Clearly document and communicate designs for precise implementation and manage timelines and deliverables effectively.
Serve as the technical liaison with external vendors throughout the development cycle, ensuring high-quality outputs.
Requirements
BS or MS in Mechanical Engineering, Design Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or related fields.
Over 5 years of hands-on experience in designing structures, enclosures, mechanisms, and assemblies, including extensive DFM practice.
Excellent communication skills for presenting complex technical concepts to multidisciplinary teams and external partners.
Deep knowledge of various materials and manufacturing techniques, with a keen understanding of product development from concept to mass production.
Expertise in 3D CAD and 2D drawing, including GD&T principles.
Proficient in prototype fabrication and familiar with various engineering and analytical methods such as FEA and DOE.
