About the role
- Structural Project Engineer working in Benesch’s Illinois division on bridge rehabilitation and design projects. Collaborating with a team and leveraging resources for project success.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and review structural and geometric calculations for bridge rehabilitation and design projects
- Prepare and review finite element analysis models
- Prepare and review bridge load rating reports to DOT standards
- Prepare, compile and review plans, specifications, cost estimates and pay items in accordance with DOT standards
- Assume responsibility for assigned design calculation files and plans
- Coordinate the above tasks with the Project/ Technical Manager
Requirements
- B.S. Degree in Civil Engineering or related discipline required
- MS in Civil Engineering with a structural emphasis or related discipline preferred
- PE License preferred
- SE License in Illinois or ability and plan to obtain
- Minimum of 5 years of bridge inspection, analysis, load rating and/or design experience
- Experience working with IDOT, CDOT, ISTHA and/or Chicagoland local agencies preferred
- Progressive experience with developing design drawings and utilizing MicroStation and/or AutoCAD
