About the role
- Senior Application Developer at Bank Frick responsible for developing applications from COBOL to Java. Opportunity to innovate in international blockchain banking and grow within the team.
Responsibilities
- Analyze and gradually redevelop existing COBOL programs into Java, applying modern architectural principles
- Execute small development tasks and continuously evolve existing applications
- Develop and implement customer-specific customizations and extensions
- Apply Secure Development Practices (e.g., OWASP, code reviews, threat modeling) to ensure secure and robust software solutions
- Build, maintain, and expand automated tests (unit, integration, and end-to-end) to ensure software quality
- Create and maintain technical documentation for developed solutions and processes
Requirements
- Degree in Computer Science or a comparable qualification
- Several years of experience in a comparable role with a focus on software development and system migration in the banking environment
- Very good knowledge of Java and experience working with Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL)
- Solid experience with database queries (e.g., SQL)
- Knowledge of COBOL, RPG, and CL is an advantage
- Very good German or English language skills (C1/C2 level)
