About the role

• Lokalreporter creating modern journalism for all local BZ-redactions in Southern Baden. Seeking motivated candidates with reporting experience and creativity.

Responsibilities

• As a reporter in a new cross-editorial local reporting team, you will travel across Southern Baden and develop, research, and publish modern journalism for all BZ local newsrooms — from Offenburg to Lörrach, from Breisach to Bonndorf and everywhere in between.
• You will be free to use every format journalism may have in 2026: you write, film reels, record podcasts, or produce data-journalism projects.
• Teamwork is always part of it.

Requirements

• You have completed a university degree or vocational training as well as a journalistic traineeship (Volontariat) and have already gained several years of reporting experience — whether freelance or as part of an editorial team.
• You are passionate about local issues in the BZ distribution area and care about the interests of the readers.
• You are confident across journalistic formats, have a talent for shaping topics with the reader in mind, and keep all channels in view when implementing them.
• You enjoy complex investigations and are keen to share your diverse research skills with others.
• Confidence and optimism characterize your approach to your work and your colleagues.
