About the role
- Licensed Aircraft Engineer maintaining aircraft at Babcock supporting critical defense missions. Working in a multidisciplinary team to ensure safety and compliance in military aviation.
Responsibilities
- Carrying out aircraft engineering, line and depth maintenance to ensure serviceable, safe aircraft.
- Performing release‑to‑service responsibilities in accordance with regulatory and safety requirements.
- Providing clear technical guidance to technicians and inspectors during maintenance activities.
- Supporting both Babcock and client stakeholders with technical insight and problem‑solving.
- Completing engineering documentation, ensuring standards, compliance and accuracy at all times.
Requirements
- Proven problem‑solving and analytical capability within an engineering environment.
- Demonstrated leadership or mentoring experience.
- Strong communication skills to engage effectively with colleagues and customers.
- Ability to prioritise, simplify complexity and use sound judgement in operational decisions.
- Knowledge of composite materials and MoD engineering procedures/documentation.
- EASA Part 66 B1 licence.
- Supervisory experience in a civil or military aviation environment.
- Ability to demonstrate required practical and theoretical engineering standards.
- Full UK driving licence.
- (Desirable) Type rating on Grob 115E aircraft and Lycoming 360 engines.
