About the role

  • Licensed Aircraft Engineer maintaining aircraft at Babcock supporting critical defense missions. Working in a multidisciplinary team to ensure safety and compliance in military aviation.

Responsibilities

  • Carrying out aircraft engineering, line and depth maintenance to ensure serviceable, safe aircraft.
  • Performing release‑to‑service responsibilities in accordance with regulatory and safety requirements.
  • Providing clear technical guidance to technicians and inspectors during maintenance activities.
  • Supporting both Babcock and client stakeholders with technical insight and problem‑solving.
  • Completing engineering documentation, ensuring standards, compliance and accuracy at all times.

Requirements

  • Proven problem‑solving and analytical capability within an engineering environment.
  • Demonstrated leadership or mentoring experience.
  • Strong communication skills to engage effectively with colleagues and customers.
  • Ability to prioritise, simplify complexity and use sound judgement in operational decisions.
  • Knowledge of composite materials and MoD engineering procedures/documentation.
  • EASA Part 66 B1 licence.
  • Supervisory experience in a civil or military aviation environment.
  • Ability to demonstrate required practical and theoretical engineering standards.
  • Full UK driving licence.
  • (Desirable) Type rating on Grob 115E aircraft and Lycoming 360 engines.
