About the role

  • Maintenance Planning Engineer at Babcock working on Royal Navy submarine maintenance plans. Collaborating with stakeholders to ensure fleet readiness and optimise maintenance requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Plan the Availability of the Royal Navy’s Submarines
  • Help optimise through life maintenance plans for the Royal Navy’s in-service submarines
  • Analyse complex data, balance maintenance requirements against operational programmes
  • Collaborate with subject matter experts across Babcock, the Ministry of Defence and industry partners
  • Support programme changes and “what if” scenarios to keep submarines safe, capable and available
  • Use a dedicated asset management tool to manage maintenance requirements through life.
  • Contribute to the development of the through life boat plan application alongside the team.

Requirements

  • Degree in a relevant engineering discipline or HNC/HND with demonstrable relevant experience
  • Engineering experience with a solid understanding of maintenance requirements and planning
  • Strong communication and presentation skills, with the confidence to engage at all levels
  • Ability to produce clear technical reports and identify improvement opportunities
  • Commitment to continuous professional development
  • Strong IT skills and experience analysing data in Excel or similar tools
  • Security Clearance - must be a sole UK national who is able to achieve and maintain Security Check (SC) security clearance.
