About the role
- Maintenance Planning Engineer at Babcock working on Royal Navy submarine maintenance plans. Collaborating with stakeholders to ensure fleet readiness and optimise maintenance requirements.
Responsibilities
- Plan the Availability of the Royal Navy’s Submarines
- Help optimise through life maintenance plans for the Royal Navy’s in-service submarines
- Analyse complex data, balance maintenance requirements against operational programmes
- Collaborate with subject matter experts across Babcock, the Ministry of Defence and industry partners
- Support programme changes and “what if” scenarios to keep submarines safe, capable and available
- Use a dedicated asset management tool to manage maintenance requirements through life.
- Contribute to the development of the through life boat plan application alongside the team.
Requirements
- Degree in a relevant engineering discipline or HNC/HND with demonstrable relevant experience
- Engineering experience with a solid understanding of maintenance requirements and planning
- Strong communication and presentation skills, with the confidence to engage at all levels
- Ability to produce clear technical reports and identify improvement opportunities
- Commitment to continuous professional development
- Strong IT skills and experience analysing data in Excel or similar tools
- Security Clearance - must be a sole UK national who is able to achieve and maintain Security Check (SC) security clearance.
