Supportability Engineer managing submarine support engineering and documentation for the UK Royal Navy. Collaborating with stakeholders to ensure operational availability and security of submarine fleet.
Responsibilities
Maintain accurate configuration data and datum pack records for all submarine-installed items in line with the Configuration Management Plan.
Maintain up-to-date records of submarine technical documentation to ensure full Quality Assurance standards are met.
Manage and maintain all Design Change Management documentation within the Submarine Definition Database.
Work as part of a specialist team, acting as a subject matter expert across Babcock, the Royal Navy, Ministry of Defence and industry partners.
Provide support at the Waterfront, ensuring design information is effectively controlled and communicated.
Requirements
Experience working with engineering documentation such as technical drawings and records.
Understanding of change management and the control of project or engineering documentation.
Ability to work independently, challenge existing processes, and make informed decisions with incomplete information.
Strong communication skills and confidence engaging with stakeholders at all levels.
NVQ Level 3 or above in a Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics discipline, with willingness to work towards Level 4 as part of continued professional development.
Security Clearance: The successful candidate must be a sole UK national who is able to achieve and maintain Security Check (SC) security clearance for this role.
