About the role

  • Supportability Engineer managing submarine support engineering and documentation for the UK Royal Navy. Collaborating with stakeholders to ensure operational availability and security of submarine fleet.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain accurate configuration data and datum pack records for all submarine-installed items in line with the Configuration Management Plan.
  • Maintain up-to-date records of submarine technical documentation to ensure full Quality Assurance standards are met.
  • Manage and maintain all Design Change Management documentation within the Submarine Definition Database.
  • Work as part of a specialist team, acting as a subject matter expert across Babcock, the Royal Navy, Ministry of Defence and industry partners.
  • Provide support at the Waterfront, ensuring design information is effectively controlled and communicated.

Requirements

  • Experience working with engineering documentation such as technical drawings and records.
  • Understanding of change management and the control of project or engineering documentation.
  • Ability to work independently, challenge existing processes, and make informed decisions with incomplete information.
  • Strong communication skills and confidence engaging with stakeholders at all levels.
  • NVQ Level 3 or above in a Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics discipline, with willingness to work towards Level 4 as part of continued professional development.
  • Security Clearance: The successful candidate must be a sole UK national who is able to achieve and maintain Security Check (SC) security clearance for this role.
