About the role

  • Turnaround Engineer managing project execution and ensuring compliance with technical specifications at MODEC's Rio de Janeiro office. Collaborating with multiple stakeholders and ensuring optimal project delivery.

Responsibilities

  • Support MdB’s annual corporate budget planning (operational expenses and capital investments) for Turnaround coordination by providing input based on prior experience, technical knowledge and market best practices.
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of the IMS (Integrated Management System), tracking and updating project status and monitoring implementation and IMS documents under the responsibility of the Turnaround Coordination.
  • Coordinate planning activities, ensuring engineering, procurement and construction schedules and securing that project objectives are met through detailed planning and resource management.
  • Contribute to the vessels’ POB Plan by analyzing and validating the Maintenance Services Forecast and monitoring the integrated maintenance plan.
  • Lead project execution for Operations and Organization, taking a proactive role in resolving and preventing issues and identifying potential risk factors that may impact the schedule, while identifying, managing and controlling changes.
  • Ensure operational technical alignments by participating in technical review meetings with the client.
  • Prepare and conduct Kick-Off meetings, ensuring an appropriate project overview, adherence to HSE strategy, unit information, planning facilities, already identified risks, opportunities and lessons learned from other unit and fleet projects.
  • Ensure MODEC fleet Turnaround Projects are planned and executed in an optimized and integrated manner (SPIE activities, Measurement, Design, Operation, External Client, etc.) through the development of Master Project Schedules and Project Execution Schedules, defining project histograms and defining/freezing project scopes.
  • Lead coordination of offshore activities during the execution phase by monitoring and reporting project progress, tracking compliance with deadlines, costs and delivery quality, and providing support to project coordinators with timely responses in the event of identified anomalies or unexpected events, in addition to providing corporate support when required.
  • Collaborate in the development of Lessons Learned by preparing, issuing and presenting close-out reports containing all relevant information and knowledge acquired from projects to identify improvement opportunities for future developments and share knowledge across the fleet, and by closing all turnaround Work Orders in the CMMS.
  • Ensure backload and return of all equipment, tools and materials belonging to contractors and suppliers, properly overseeing all cases.
  • Execute project Risk Assessment and Risk Management processes by conducting risk-assessment brainstorms with necessary stakeholders, compiling and analyzing all identified risks, issuing the Risk Register, identifying possible Response Plan actions and monitoring the progress of those actions.
  • Ensure all systems/equipment are restored to regular performance after project completion and properly handed over to operations.
  • Establish integration with internal and external stakeholders (other company areas, clients, suppliers, etc.) and/or external customers, preparing and conducting periodic meetings to align planning, project activity details and requirements and to present project progress.
  • Supervise on-site the execution phase of the planned scope, participating in daily meetings with project stakeholders and PICs.
  • Plan and oversee the project preparation phase, including scaffold assembly, materials segregation (onshore and offshore), sending weekly reports to project stakeholders and presenting follow-up meetings.
  • Coordinate with onshore and offshore teams the mobilization of equipment for the project: shipment of contractor containers and utilities for offshore execution.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering is required. Postgraduate degree in related areas is a plus.
  • CREA registration (professional engineering council) is mandatory.
  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience in on-site execution supervision.
  • Offshore experience is expected.
  • Experience with Maintenance Shutdowns is a plus.
  • MS Project – intermediate.
  • Power BI – basic.
  • Excel – intermediate.
  • Advanced English.
  • SAP MM and SAP PM – intermediate.
  • Availability for frequent vessel embarkations.
