About the role
- Senior Project Controller leading submarine disposal projects at Babcock, focusing on UK defense capabilities and project performance across a diverse team.
Responsibilities
- Lead the delivery of complex, high-impact projects that shape national security
- Act as deputy to the Senior Project Controls Manager, guiding a large and diverse Project Controls team
- Ensure the successful control of up to nine major submarine disposal projects
- Oversee planning, governance, and reporting for multiple submarine disposal baselines
- Drive coherence and quality across all project controls datasets and performance metrics
- Deliver project assurance activities across the full project lifecycle, including pre-bid
- Provide leadership, coaching, and direction to over 30 project controls professionals
Requirements
- Extensive experience in project controls, project management, or programme management.
- Proven experience leading and managing teams.
- Recent, relevant experience in cost control or finance within a comparable sector.
- Experience managing complex project controls across varied products, services, and lifecycle stages.
- Experience working within engineering, nuclear, defence, or other highly regulated environments (advantageous).
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, project management, construction management or a related discipline.
- APM Project Professional Qualification (PPQ) or equivalent.
- Additional project management certifications or advanced professional memberships - Desirable.
- The successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain Security Check (SC) security clearance for this role.
