About the role

  • Risk & Compliance Executive responsible for regulatory compliance and risk management across operations. Preparing reports on compliance status and supporting audits and inspections in the United States.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure compliance with applicable local and international regulations, including the Nigeria Data Protection Act (NDPA) and relevant U.S. regulatory requirements.
  • Identify, assess, document, and monitor operational, regulatory, reputational, and compliance risks across all business lines.
  • Develop, maintain, and update risk registers, compliance frameworks, policies, and SOPs.
  • Ensure accuracy, defensibility, and compliance in processes.
  • Lead or support incident response and remediation, including investigations, root cause analysis, corrective actions, and regulatory reporting where required.
  • Promote an ethical culture, advising leadership on compliance obligations and managing requests that may expose the business to regulatory or reputational risk.
  • Track and ensure timely renewal of licenses, permits, business registrations, insurance policies, and statutory filings.
  • Conduct periodic internal audits and compliance reviews, identifying gaps and recommending process improvements.
  • Prepare management and executive reports on compliance status, key risks, incidents, and remediation progress.
  • Support client audits, regulatory inspections, and third-party due diligence processes.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Law, Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, Risk Management, or a related field.
  • 4–7 years of experience in risk management, compliance, internal audit, or governance, preferably within staffing, HR services, verification, fintech, or regulated environments.
  • Strong working knowledge of NDPA and data protection principles.
  • Experience managing cross-border compliance (Nigeria and/or U.S. preferred).
  • Familiarity with risk assessment frameworks, audit processes, and compliance reporting.
  • Strong analytical, documentation, and communication skills.
  • High ethical standards and sound professional judgment.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
