About the role

• Database Management professional focusing on SQL Server administration and AWS support. Responsible for enterprise-grade database systems design and implementation.

Responsibilities

• Administers and maintains SQL Server environments, including installation, configuration, patching, backup/recovery, and security.
• Implements and supports AWS Aurora MySQL and PostgreSQL databases, as well as Snowflake data platforms.
• Designs and manages data replication strategies using tools such as HVR.
• Leverages virtualization technologies like Delphix for data masking, cloning, and test data management.
• Develops and maintains CI/CD pipelines for database provisioning and deployment using PowerShell and other automation tools.
• Monitors database performance and system health using observability platforms such as AppDynamics and DataDog.
• Applies deep expertise in SQL Server HADR technologies, including Failover Cluster Instances (FCI) and AlwaysOn Availability Groups.
• Performs advanced database tuning, error resolution, and root cause analysis to ensure optimal performance and reliability.
• Understands and applies relational and dimensional data modeling principles; experience with dbt is a plus.
• Captures and documents business rules used in data transformation and integration processes.
• Publishes and maintains data models and supporting documentation for use by project teams and technology groups.
• Promotes reuse of existing data objects and entities across the enterprise to reduce cost and improve consistency.
• Applies standards for data quality and serves as a data steward.
• Advises on architecture frameworks for operational stores, data marts, and content management systems.
• Communicates directly with clients to understand business and technical requirements, troubleshoot issues, and present solutions.
• May lead technical design for small projects or contribute to larger initiatives. Functions independently with limited direction; work is reviewed periodically and on an exception basis.

Requirements

• 5+ years of relevant experience in database administration and engineering.
• BS in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent experience.
