About the role
- Head of Engineering overseeing development teams in Technology & Data. Responsible for technical direction and strategic goals across the company while managing around 60 staff.
Responsibilities
- Overall responsibility for our development teams, currently around 60 employees
- Lead, coach and develop the Tech Leads and their teams
- Define the technical direction and standards for the company in close collaboration with our Tech Leads
- Support Tech Leads with administrative and organizational tasks
- Responsible for recruiting and onboarding new talent
- Conduct and organize employee meetings and development plans
- Support measures for team development and culture promotion
- Resource planning and project allocation in close coordination with Tech Leads and project managers
- Optimize processes related to teamwork and collaboration
- Ensure quality and reliability
- Budget planning and control for personnel and development initiatives
- Reporting and monitoring of relevant KPIs in project controlling and business areas (e.g., resource utilization, budget variances, forecasts)
- Act as a close interface between executive management, Tech Leads, HR and Sales/Project Management
Requirements
- Several years of leadership experience in a comparable role, ideally in an agency environment
- Strong skills in people leadership, team development and coaching
- Experience in recruiting, HR processes and organizational team management
- Confident handling of budget planning, controlling and reporting
- Strong communication skills and ability to manage interfaces with executive management, HR, Sales and other stakeholders
- Experience in e-commerce and a solid understanding of software development and project work
- Hands-on mentality, strategic foresight and enthusiasm for organizational and process development
