About the role
- Cybersecurity & Information Technology Faculty position at Austin Community College. Instructing students on cybersecurity principles and practices in a multicultural setting.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and teach courses in the field of Cybersecurity to a multicultural student population based on the department's approved course learning outcomes
- Participate actively in departmental responsibilities and departmental governance, including curriculum review and revision, program review, assessment of student learning outcomes at the course and program level
- Evaluate student progress and provide clear, timely feedback reflecting program learning outcomes
- Serve as a mentor to students in the Cybersecurity program
- Provide teaching and mentoring services to students in a manner which does not discriminate based on race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, disability, age, protected veteran status, political affiliation, or other protected categories.
Requirements
- Master's degree in Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, Computer Information Technology, Computer or Software Engineering; or Computer-based Information Systems (e.g., management, decision, data-processing) or Network Security; or Master's degree with 18 graduate hours in these disciplines or Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, Computer Information Technology, Computer or Software Engineering, Network Security or Computer-Based Information
- Three years of non-teaching, industry-related work experience specifically related to cybersecurity, networking, or cloud computing.
- Demonstrated proficiency using computer applications, online resources, and other technologies for the classroom.
- Remaining current in the field through professional development activities.
