About the role

  • Associate Director leading network modernization initiatives for AT&T. Managing technical teams and guiding project execution in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

  • Associate Director Member of Technical Staff responsible for managing, planning and allocation of work of employees and contractors in the Network Analytics and Automation organization supporting wireline network modernization project.
  • Includes interviewing, selecting, providing guidance/coaching and assessing performance to ensure compliance with company and regulatory policy.
  • Manages highly technical teams involved in implementing long term model for Platform Release Management and Tiered Operations Model.
  • Supports high-value technology tied to the strategic direction of the company to modernize AT&T’s wireline network.
  • Works closely with operation partners to define and build network solutions aligned with wireline network transformation strategy.
  • Leads development team to support outages and root cause identification behind the outages.
  • Manages the team in a challenging and rapidly changing cost/resource constrained environment.
  • Leads innovation by driving new ways of doing things and applying new technologies.
  • Collaborates with other staff and members of leadership to design and develop business strategies necessary for the forward progress of technology and related organizational operations.
  • Administrative responsibilities include development of subordinates, force budgeting and allocation, financial responsibilities such as budget preparation and tracking, and business case coordination with clients, capital expenses and governance.
  • Supervises and develops a team of subordinates, conducts joint goal setting and performance reviews, as well as assists in the allocation of resources, budget/financials, and long-range planning.

Requirements

  • Preferred Master of Science degree or equivalent experience
  • Experience as manager of teams delivering large and complex mission critical applications.
  • Strong Leadership skills, demonstrates outstanding partnership across multiple teams, strong communication skills, takes ownership and pushes for a resolution.
  • Handles multiple priorities, helps to set clear direction for the team, continues to take on additional responsibilities.
  • Establishes support across the organization and shares ideas, makes recommendations and maintains strong technical skills and certifications.
  • Typically requires 10+ years’ experience, including evolving technologies within the software and telecom industry.
  • Familiar with governance models & standards.
  • Understanding of current development lifecycle.
  • Strong collaboration skills required and the ability to influence decisions.
  • Experience designing, implementing, and supporting complex technical solutions.
  • Experience making complex concepts and business problems simple and reusable.
  • Powerful analytical skillset with the ability to motivate others to share your vision and enthusiasm.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
