Responsibilities
- Provide technical expertise in requirements definition, design, integration, and validation of signaling solutions
- Support the design and deployment of ETCS (Level 1 and 2) solutions
- Develop clear and verifiable technical requirements for tenders and contracts
- Assess compliance of proposed designs against existing requirements
- Apply knowledge of ERTMS Subsets and other industry standards
- Conduct rigorous testing protocols to validate signaling solutions
- Analyze operational procedures to ensure alignment with real-world rail environments
- Interface with manufacturers, operators, and stakeholders to coordinate technical specifications
Requirements
- Strong expertise in ETCS/ERTMS signaling
- Previous experience with a signaling system manufacturer (OEM) or a rail operator
- Strong working knowledge of Subset-026 and/or other critical ERTMS subsets
- Proven ability in system validation or field testing for signaling systems
- Understanding of onboard and trackside signaling components
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Systems Engineering, or a related field
- Membership (or eligibility for membership) in a Canadian Provincial Professional Engineering Association is a significant plus
