AI Product Engineer at Anju Software responsible for defining and developing AI capabilities. Collaborating closely with management to align product direction with business strategy and client needs.
Responsibilities
Define and drive the roadmap for the new AI product — identify the highest-value opportunities within our VMS platform for life sciences and translate them into a clear, prioritized plan
Work directly with the General Manager and key stakeholders to align AI product direction with overall company strategy and customer needs
Lead customer and domain-expert discovery phases to identify real workflow pain points that AI can solve
Make pragmatic decisions between building in-house and integrating existing solutions, balancing speed to market with long-term product quality
Design and develop end-to-end AI features — from backend architecture and business logic to user interfaces
Integrate LLMs and AI services (Claude, GPT-4, open-source models) into the platform's core workflows
Build RAG pipelines, agentic workflows, and intelligent automations on life-sciences datasets, including regulatory documents, SOWs, compliance policies, and workforce-related data
Establish engineering foundations that meet regulatory requirements — code standards, AI evaluation frameworks, and deployment practices — that future team members can rely on
Ensure AI features meet the auditability, traceability, and accuracy standards expected in regulated life-sciences environments
Requirements
3 to 5 years of software engineering experience with a strong foundation in backend or full-stack development
Hands-on experience designing and shipping AI features or LLM-based solutions to production
Demonstrated product mindset — you have owned a feature or product area, not just executed tickets
Experience with AI tools such as LangChain, LlamaIndex, OpenAI SDK, Anthropic SDK, or equivalent
Experience with .NET and C#
Good understanding of APIs, cloud infrastructure, and modern software architectures
Excellent written and verbal communication skills — ability to present product ideas and technical trade-offs to non-engineers
Entrepreneurial, self-driven mindset; comfortable with ambiguity and motivated by building projects from scratch
Additional assets:
Experience in life sciences, digital health, or other regulated software environments
Knowledge of vertical market software, business management platforms, or industry-specific SaaS
Understanding of GxP principles, 21 CFR Part 11, or compliance requirements applicable to pharmaceutical and biotech industries
Experience with vector databases, embedding pipelines, or semantic search
Experience in prompt evaluation, QA for AI systems, or responsible AI practices
Experience in an early-stage or high-growth environment where you need to build systems from the ground up
