Responsibilities
Work on transportation projects that include Intelligent Transportation System (ITS), Transportation Systems Management and Operations (TSMO), and traffic engineering with a focus on improving safety and operations.
Work independently with appropriate senior review, while providing technical guidance to junior engineers as needed.
Coordinate with subject matter experts—including survey, roadway design, and environmental disciplines—to support project objectives.
Support project delivery by planning and overseeing small assignments or discrete components of larger projects, ensuring quality, schedule, and budget objectives are met.
Prepare transportation engineering plans, ITS designs, systems engineering, and traffic engineering plans, including signal designs, signing and marking designs, and conceptual designs for intersections.
Develop and maintain an understanding of Arcadis’ services, client businesses, and the transportation industry to increase personal and company credibility in the sector.
Undertake training and guidance to increase knowledge in areas of technical proficiency.
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Civil or Electrical Engineering or a related field.
Engineer in Training (EIT) Certification and actively working towards Professional Engineer (PE) Certification.
4 or more years of relevant engineering experience, preferably in transportation or traffic engineering.
Experience in operational and/or safety analysis.
Excellent communication, time management, and problem-solving skills.
U.S. Driver’s License required.
Experience with signal, ITS, and/or signing and marking design (preferred).
Experience with public sector clients and projects (preferred).
