About the role

  • Structural Engineer delivering engineering and consulting services for flood risk and infrastructure resilience projects at Arcadis. Key responsibilities include design, analysis, and leadership of cross-disciplinary teams.

Responsibilities

  • conduct structural analysis, design, and engineering during construction services for climate adaptation projects
  • conduct structural related engineering investigations, calculations, and planning work which has a well-defined scope
  • research feasibility of alternative design approaches, site conditions and regulatory agency specifications
  • develop calculations, plans, specifications, requests for proposals, and other contract documents
  • work directly with a variety of engineering disciplines, office / project staff, client and sub-contractors
  • mentor entry-level and junior structural engineering staff
  • function as Design Lead, Task Manager or Project Engineer on projects to manage related budgets and schedules
  • some travel may be required for project site visits, client meetings, safety audits, general planning purposes or to oversee construction activities depending on project staffing needs

Requirements

  • 8 years of relevant experience.
  • Bachelor's degree in related discipline.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) registration.
  • experience in designing flood walls, flood gates, retaining wall structures, and deep foundations
  • experience working on Federal resiliency projects.
  • Master’s degree in Structural Engineering from a reputable institution is a plus
  • proficiency in structural analysis and design software such as STAAD, MathCAD, AutoCAD, and Revit is also helpful for this role.
