About the role

  • deliver engineering and consulting services for various projects, including flood risk reduction, waterfront infrastructure resilience, dam safety, lock and navigation structure design.
  • conduct structural analysis, design, and engineering during construction services for climate adaptation projects, including seismic risk reduction, flood mitigation, and infrastructure resilience initiatives.
  • conducts structural related engineering investigations, calculations, and planning work which has a well-defined scope.
  • research feasibility of alternative design approaches, site conditions and regulatory agency specifications.
  • work toward development of calculations, plans, specifications, requests for proposals, and other contract documents.
  • work directly with a variety of engineering disciplines, office/project staff, client, and sub-contractors, throughout the project life cycle.
  • exercise judgment on details of work and in making preliminary selections and adaptations of engineering alternatives.
  • function as Design Lead, Task Manager or Project Engineer on projects to manage related budgets and schedules, lead deliverables, and facilitate coordination for timely completion and submission of projects.
  • mentor entry-level and junior structural engineering staff.

Requirements

  • 8 years of relevant experience.
  • Bachelor's degree in related discipline.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) registration or EIT with ability to obtain PE within 6 months of hire.
  • experience in designing flood walls, flood gates, retaining wall structures, and deep foundations.
  • experience working on resiliency projects.
  • A Master’s degree in Structural Engineering from a reputable institution is a plus.
  • progressive experience in structural engineering, particularly focusing on infrastructure projects related to water management, flood control, and seismic resilience.
  • Proficiency in structural analysis and design software such as STAAD, MathCAD, AutoCAD, and Revit.
  • Ability to write project specifications and address engineering during construction.
