About the role
- Electrical Engineer role designing and assisting electrical systems for various building projects at Arcadis. Collaborate within Design & Engineering teams to deliver impactful designs for sustainable places.
Responsibilities
- Prepares electrical designs and drawings of building facilities and building electrical systems including power, lighting, fire alarm, PA, IT, etc., using computer-aided tools (e.g. EDSA and ETAP analytical software, CDEGS grounding software, Revit, AutoCad, and MicroStation CAD systems)
- Assist to identify cost-effective solutions to design problems
- Assist in electrical design teams on larger multi-discipline projects
- Liaises internally with project managers and other discipline project leaders to obtain project information and to discuss specific design related problems
- Assists in creating and presenting technical reports regarding the nature, status, and results of design or study assignments
- Requires the ability to recognize the implications of assigned work on the work of other disciplines, and ensures the necessary coordination occurs
Requirements
- A bachelor's degree in electrical engineering plus 6+ years’ experience in buildings electrical systems design preferred in a consulting or utility environment.
- Preferred to have P. Eng. designation in Ontario but not a must
- Strong skills in the use of the REVIT modeling system is an asset
- Electrical design and specification experience in the following building systems: power distribution in buildings, lighting design, fire alarm systems, card access and camera security systems, PA systems, telecommunications systems and audio-visual systems
- Strong knowledge and understanding of the Ontario Electrical Safety Code
- Strong written and verbal communications skills
