Responsibilities
provide technical and design consulting services with a focus on electrical power distribution, lighting, communications, security, fire detection and monitoring and control system designs
manage tasks, manage team work, and oversee the work of junior staff
support projects and clients in the planning, design and construction of water/wastewater facilities and other industrial facilities
development of project/task scopes, schedules, and budget for new projects
establishing design criteria, performing design calculations, developing one-line diagrams, control schematics, plans, and specifications
providing condition assessments, equipment evaluations, and life cycle planning recommendations for facilities
providing engineering services during construction phases, reviewing equipment submittals, shop drawings, and responding to contractor RFIs
conducting general QA/QC of completed work and monitoring safety compliance
performing system analysis utilizing tools like ETAP, SKM Power Tools, or other power systems analysis software
Requirements
7 years of relevant experience
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Electrical Engineering Technology, a related discipline, or equivalent work experience
PE License
Experience using AutoCAD MEP (2D and 3D) or Revit, SKM Power Tools, short circuit calculations, overcurrent coordination, and/or arc flash analysis, and photometric study (Visual 3D or Dialux)
Solid working knowledge of the National Electrical Code requirements, as well as NFPA 70E, NFPA 820
Willingness and desire to mentor and manage junior/staff electrical engineers
Ability to work with multi-disciplinary teams effectively to complete projects on time and on budget
Ability to balance team workload for multiple assignments and activities concurrently to meet multiple project deadlines.
