About the role

Senior ASRS Structural Engineer leading ASRS structural engineering projects from conception to completion at Apex Structural Engineering. Engaging in cutting-edge design and analysis of rack-supported structures.

Responsibilities

Structural analysis and project management for full building design and delegated steel design projects.
Lead a team of structural engineers to design and prepare deliverables for full building design and delegated steel design projects.
Typical projects consist of steel structure design, light gauge steel design, steel connection design, miscellaneous steel design, and erection engineering.
Additional responsibilities include calculation development, steel shop drawing reviews, submittal preparation, RFI development and new calculation development to enhance efficiencies.
Utilize analysis software programs such as Tekla Structural Designer, Excel, Idea Statica, BlueBeam, RISA Suite, Revit and Ram Connection.
Review 3-D BIM models to aid in building design, connection design and shop drawing reviews.
Obtain planning and building regulations approval.

Bachelor’s degree in civil or structural engineering.
Master’s degree in civil or structural engineering is a plus.
PE licensure.
SE licensure in California is a plus.
6+ years of ASRS structural engineering experience.
An advanced understanding of relevant building codes, materials, and standards.
Excellent communication skills are required, both verbal and written.
Project management experience/ability.
Software skills with any of the following are a plus: Tekla Structural Designer, Excel, Idea Statica, BlueBeam, RISA Suite, Revit and Ram Connection.
Attention to detail, logical problem-solving skills, and strong organizational skills.
Ability to thrive under pressure and meet deadlines.
