About the role
- Core Component Designer developing key parts for rotating electrical machines at ANDRITZ in Weiz. Collaborating with interdisciplinary teams to optimize designs for electrical engineering.
Responsibilities
- Act as the primary 3D CAD designer for core components of rotating electrical machines (REM), including generators, working closely with interdisciplinary R&D teams
- Design, develop and optimize active parts (magnetic and electrically relevant components), including salient poles, high-voltage windings and stator/rotor cores, based on engineering input from electromagnetics, insulation, mechanical and ventilation experts
- Create precise geometric models to support advanced numerical simulations (CFD/CHT and FE) performed by calculation/analysis engineers
- Prepare high-quality 3D models, technical drawings and complete bills of materials (BOMs) for components used in project developments, prototypes and test facilities
- Collaborate closely with R&D, engineering, manufacturing, assembly and commissioning teams to ensure robust, manufacturable and well-integrated component designs
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of design standards, methods and tools
Requirements
- Completed technical education (technical college/University of Applied Sciences/university or equivalent) in Mechanical Engineering
- Relevant professional experience
- Design and mechanical calculation skills in the field of large rotating electrical machines are mandatory
- Good knowledge of 3D CAD—preferably Siemens NX; PLM software Siemens Teamcenter—and MS Office
- Proficiency in German and English
- Willingness to travel (approx. 5%)
