About the role

  • Product Analyst providing strategy recommendations based on research and performance data at American Family Insurance. Responsibilities include competitor research, product enhancements, and operational analysis.

Responsibilities

  • Provides analysis to help build out product strategy recommendations to division and department leadership based on research, performance data and competitor actions.
  • May specialize in researching competitor products, developing and/or enhancing product/contract language, underwriting guidelines, and/or analytics.
  • Develops reports, analysis, or recommended strategies related to product development or enhancement, underwriting, and eligibility to drive multiproduct growth.
  • Analyzes information, including countrywide competitive intelligence, and presents opportunities to improve product or business practices and procedures.
  • Monitors effectiveness of current products and recommends changes and/or enhancements to management to strengthen product decisions.
  • Analyzes information and/or data with a focus on quality, accuracy, and completeness in support of the formulation and execution of operational plans.
  • May specialize in supporting pricing activities related to rate reviews, profit and loss ratio-based reviews, experience rating programs.
  • Researches philosophies and strategies that support growth and long-term profitability goals, including the effective adoption of AI tools.

Requirements

  • Demonstrated experience providing customer-driven solutions, support or service.
  • Demonstrated experience with various PC software applications and Microsoft Office products.
  • Solid knowledge and understanding of insurance product design and underwriting concepts in area of expertise.
  • Solid knowledge and understanding of market research and marketplace trends in insurance coverage.
  • Basic knowledge and understanding of project management methodologies, practices, techniques and tools.
