About the role

  • Client Data Analyst developing management information solutions for client travel programs. Conducting data analysis, building dashboards, and supporting strategy in the travel industry.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain comprehensive management information (MI) solutions tailored to client requirements, including quarterly reviews, monthly reports and ad-hoc analytical requests
  • Conduct in-depth analysis of client travel programmes to identify trends, cost optimisation opportunities and programme performance metrics
  • Design, build and maintain dynamic dashboards and automated reporting solutions using advanced Excel functionality (VBA, macros, pivot tables, array formulas and financial modelling)
  • Prepare accurate scorecards and performance presentations that drive strategic business objectives and support client decision-making
  • Audit and analyse air fare checks and PRDS requests, ensuring data integrity and compliance
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for all MI-related matters, including reporting tool support, configuration, maintenance and issue resolution
  • Facilitate end-to-end client programme support, including action plan development, escalation management and special project delivery
  • Support policy exception management, crisis management protocols and post-trip reporting analysis
  • Maintain client configuration data (customer IDs, cost centres, reason codes) within Amex GBT MI database to ensure consistent global reporting accuracy
  • Collaborate with Client Group Managers and Global Service Delivery teams to ensure programme connectivity and seamless service delivery
  • Oversee implementation of new markets and services, ensuring MI, service delivery and online processes are fully operationalised
  • Identify, escalate and facilitate resolution of issues utilising internal resources and Amex GBT support channels

Requirements

  • 1 year of experience in data analysis
  • Expert proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including VBA, macros, pivot tables, array formulas, financial modelling and data visualisation
  • Advanced knowledge of Excel, MS Access, ActiveX Data Objects and related database technologies
  • Demonstrated expertise in designing dynamic dashboards, statistical analysis and automation solutions
  • Proficiency in building fully-integrated financial models and complex data handling
  • Strong knowledge of insights reporting tools and MI platforms
  • Thorough understanding of the business travel industry, including front office, mid-office and back-office processes and tools
  • Comprehensive product knowledge of Amex GBT systems and solutions
  • Ability to translate technical data into compelling business narratives and presentations
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills with meticulous attention to detail
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities with a proactive, resourceful approach
  • Ability to manage competing priorities, work under pressure and meet tight client-driven deadlines
  • Excellent relationship-building skills across diverse teams and working styles
  • Adaptability to change and new direction with minimal notice
  • Proficiency in learning new technologies and navigating technical issues through appropriate support channels
