- Safety Case Engineer in the nuclear industry focusing on developing and implementing PSA for major projects. Engaging with clients and regulators while ensuring safety standards.
Responsibilities
- Lead the development and implementation of PSA for major nuclear projects
- Perform independent safety assurance reviews
- Work closely with clients to manage PSA model implementation and develop effective safety cases and risk management plans
- Liaising with clients to understand their challenges and developing solutions.
- Representing the business in technical meetings with clients, regulators and other third parties.
- Helping to maintain the technical capability/knowledge of the community and mentoring junior team members (as appropriate).
Requirements
- A good understanding of PSA principles and experience developing and updating PSA models
- Expertise in the use of PSA tools (E.g. Reliabilty workbench and RiskMonitor)
- Knowledge of ONR and international nuclear standards
- Good communication skills and ability to articulate information to a broad range of stakeholders.
- Experience of delivering project tasks against relevant standards and best practices.
- A degree (or equivalent demonstrable experience) in a STEM discipline.
- Chartered Member of a professional institute (or equivalent demonstrable experience) or working towards either Chartered or Incorporated Engineer status with a relevant professional body.
