About the role

• Senior Legal Counsel advising AMBOSS on privacy and IT compliance issues. Collaborating with teams and developing clear solutions for data protection in an international environment.

Responsibilities

• You advise our teams on data protection law issues and their implementation.
• You analyze and assess data protection compliance risks at the system and process level and further develop them according to recognized standards.
• You analyze relevant data protection requirements from the international context and align them with the existing setup.
• You review and assess data protection agreements (e.g., Data Processing Agreements) as well as tools and software for privacy compliance.
• You create and maintain internal data protection policies and procedures (in particular the record of processing activities).
• You handle and coordinate data subject rights requests (e.g., access, rectification, and deletion requests) and ensure compliance with data subjects' rights in cooperation with other departments.
• You work closely with our General Counsel and the entire Legal team.

Requirements

• You are a fully qualified lawyer with two state examinations (at least one exam graded "voll befriedigend").
• You have at least 2 years of relevant professional experience at a reputable law firm or as an in-house lawyer in the IT/privacy field.
• You are eager to work in an international context and grow together with AMBOSS.
• You communicate complex legal requirements clearly and understandably and enjoy drafting legal documents.
• You are business-fluent in German and English, both written and spoken, and comfortable communicating with internal and external stakeholders.
• You are tech-savvy and enjoy engaging with technical topics.
• You enjoy working with people from different departments and are always solution-oriented and organized.
• Experience at a consumer-facing tech company is a plus.
