About the role

  • IT Technical Lead driving technology initiatives for AIG’s Sanctions IT team. Leading development of high-quality software solutions and mentoring developers in Java technologies.

Responsibilities

  • Provide technical leadership and mentorship to a team of developers
  • Guide the design and implementation of robust, scalable, and maintainable software solutions
  • Produce a comprehensive technical inventory of existing integrations, services, and dependencies
  • Foster a collaborative and innovative development environment
  • Coordinate with cross-functional teams to align technical solutions with business goals
  • Evaluate existing code, tools, and documentation to assess upgrade/remediation and migration paths
  • Hands-on development using Java, Spring boot, TomEE, Angular, and related technologies
  • Utilize SQL for effective database interactions and data retrieval
  • Leverage expertise in TomEE for developing and deploying enterprise Java applications
  • Utilize Rally (or similar project management tools) for planning, tracking, and reporting on project progress
  • Conduct regular code reviews to ensure adherence to coding standards and best practices

Requirements

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related fields
  • 7+ Years Experience with hands-on Development and 2+ years as a Technical Lead in Java development projects
  • Strong proficiency in Java, TomEE, SQL, Spring Framework, and related technologies
  • Hands-on expertise with AWS services like Lambda, S3, DynamoDB, SQS, and Terraform
  • Experience with Rally or similar project management tools
  • Strong knowledge of SQL for database interactions
  • Expertise in Data Stage for ETL processes and data integration is preferred
  • Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills
  • Effective communication and collaboration abilities
  • Familiarity with agile development methodologies
