About the role
- Research Scientist responsible for executing biology development programs and product expansion at AgroFresh. Collaboration with sales teams and maintaining communication with global R&D labs.
Responsibilities
- Responsible for the concrete implementation and execution of biology development programs for both products and expansion of the existing portfolio.
- Execute experimental procedures using knowledge of scientific principles, theories and experimental design within the relevant discipline.
- Responsible of the generation and analysis of research data.
- Capable of applying the scientific method to formulate experimental plans and address related R&D challenges.
- Propose research directions and formulate experimental plans targeting issues in the post-harvest value chain.
- Complete summaries and reports for the corresponding experiments/projects.
- Coordinate relevant resources to execute the planned R&D project.
- Plan and manage resources needed to initiate projects to support sales and key customers, being aligned with lab management and other leaders.
Requirements
- Masters degree in Postharvest science/ Agronomy/Horticulture/Plant Physiology/Food Science, with 3-5 years of relevant experience preferred.
- Ability to travel 20%-30% of the time
- Proficient in using Windows and Office software as well as statistical analysis software
- Fluency in English is preferred (Reading, writing and speaking)
- Good at using GC for analysis of volatiles
