About the role
- Information System Security Officer liaising between Cybersecurity Group and information owners. Ensuring compliance and security posture for national security IT systems in a hybrid environment.
Responsibilities
- Serve as the primary liaison between the Cybersecurity Group and information owners on security matters
- Ensure systems follow security policies including vulnerability scanning and patching
- Support incident reporting and coordination with the SOC
- Verify compliance for commercial and open-source software
- Manage IPAs and PIAs
- Monitor overall security posture and prepare Security Posture Reports
Requirements
- CISSP or Security + certification
- Bachelor of Science Degree
- 3 - 5 years of experience as an ISSO/ISSM
- Maintain security posture of assigned information systems
- Support system authorization and accreditation activities
- Monitor system security controls
- Perform continuous monitoring activities
- Identify and remediate vulnerabilities
- Conduct security assessments and risk analysis
- Prepare and maintain security plans and incident response plans
- Communicate security risks and recommendations to stakeholders
