About the role
- Lead Engineer Backend at ADEO developing the architecture for the Customer Mobile App. Collaborating across teams to enhance customer experience in the retail sector.
Responsibilities
- Drive the architecture and evolution of the Back-for-Front layer serving the Customer Mobile App
- Be the guardian of reactive programming (Spring WebFlux), code quality and backend best practices
- Provide technical leadership to the backend developers on the team and actively contribute to their skill development
- Work closely with Flutter developers within integrated squads
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of our CI/CD pipeline (GitHub Actions)
- Promote a high-performance, smooth and personalized mobile experience, closely aligned with frontend and product objectives
- Collaborate with other backend teams across the group to share best practices and drive toward a unified mobile architecture
Requirements
- Proven experience as a lead or senior backend engineer on a large-scale project
- Strong command of Java Spring Boot, with excellent knowledge of Spring WebFlux and reactive programming
- Comfortable with microservice architectures and modern CI/CD practices
- Understanding of mobile application specifics (latency, compatibility, versioning, performance)
- Able to lead, grow a team and drive a technical vision
- Experience with multi-brand, multi-country or shared mobile platform challenges is a plus
- Curious, structured, pedagogical and value-oriented — you enjoy mentoring and helping teams progress
