About the role

  • Finance Assistant managing monthly accounting and HR processes for a fast-growing organic e-commerce startup. Collaborating closely with the Chief of Staff to enhance finance and administrative processes.

Responsibilities

  • Managing the monthly closing process for external accounting and preparing and further developing the monthly management reporting
  • Taking independent responsibility for subprojects in finance, admin and process optimization — in particular digitalization, tooling and workflow improvements
  • Responsible for core HR processes: payroll, maintenance of master data, contract management, onboarding and offboarding
  • Helping shape our team culture, including organizing team events and offsites
  • Flexible all-around support in everyday startup life, where you provide ad-hoc assistance and gain insights into various company areas

Requirements

  • **What you bring**
  • You have several years of experience as a team assistant and/or in accounting
  • Strong affinity for (financial) numbers
  • Independent working style & an eye for detail
  • Available for at least 12 hours per week
  • Excellent communication skills in English and German (C1)
  • You live in Berlin or the surrounding area and are happy to be on-site at our office in Mitte
  • Experience with Excel and accounting tools (e.g., DATEV, Lexware, Sevdesk, or similar)
  • Professional experience in accounting/finance operations, e.g., in a tax firm, a small company, or a startup
