About the role

• Controller responsible for leading the Accounting Team of a FinTech company, ensuring compliance and managing financial reports and audits.

Responsibilities

• Manages the personnel and activities of the Accounting Team
• Develops and performs business analytics to support dynamic corporate product and service initiatives
• Monitors and performs the general ledger and monthly accounting close processes
• Works with team members to continue growing their skills and knowledge base
• Assures the timely reconciliation of the balance sheet accounts each month
• Produces monthly financial reports; ensures that the reported results comply with generally accepted accounting principles
• Works with external auditors and provides needed information for the annual audit
• Prepares annual tax package for tax firm and coordinates resulting state tax filings and payments
• Supports and provides financial and supporting schedules to the tax firm and coordinates state tax return mailings and payments as prepared by the tax firm

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Business Administration required
• Certified Public Accountant designation required
• Five years or more of related experience required
• Proficient in Excel tools and analysis of large volumes of Excel data
• NetSuite experience is helpful though not necessary
• State Tax / Compliance experience helpful
