About the role

  • Lab Research Analyst I managing daily operations of a new lab in the Duke Department of Surgery. Performing advanced experiments related to trauma and surgical sepsis with animal models.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in managing the day-to-day operations of the newly established basic and translational science laboratory.
  • Monitor animals and perform experiments under supervision.
  • Advance technologies and the immune response in traumatic injury and surgical sepsis using animal models and patient-based samples.
  • Execute laboratory assays to evaluate immune responses to trauma, injury, and infection.

Requirements

  • Work requires a bachelor's degree in botany, biology, zoology, psychology or other directly related scientific field.
  • Work requires two years of research experience.
  • A related master's degree may offset required years of experience on a 1:1 basis, e.g., a two year master's degree in lieu of two years of experience.
  • Or an equivalent combination of relevant education and/or experience.
