About the role
- Write content for a diverse mix of form factors for Gartner's Business and Technology Insights (BTI) group
- Plan and write must-have research
- Gather materials; draft documents or heavily rewrite analysts' work based off of notes, presentations and other materials; interview analysts
- Orchestrate peer, vendor and management reviews, respond to comments, and coordinate with editors, designers and other parties
- Check facts, dates and statistics for accuracy; verify facts using standard reference sources
- Project manage assignments through to completion and manage progress in Gartner's content management system
- Write with the reader in mind emphasizing substantive simplicity; review and revise drafts for quality and client value
- Utilize approved AI tools to support and accelerate writing
- Provide input for companywide writing and editing standards and processes; coach subject matter experts on writing best practices
- Engage in continuous training to improve writing skills and business acumen
Requirements
- Three or more years' writing experience, preferably with fact-based, business content in a busy environment with strict deadlines
- Bachelor's degree in English, Journalism, Liberal Arts, Technical Writing, or related field
- Excellent writing and communication skills
- Ability to learn and understand new concepts quickly
- Ability to collaborate on draft content with subject matter experts and build relationships with key (often senior) stakeholders
- Ability to distill meaning from graphics and numerical data
- Ability to manage diverse projects simultaneously and meet deadlines
- Knowledge of Associated Press (AP) style
- Familiarity with Google Workspace applications (nice to have)
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office applications (nice to have)
- Experience working in a content management system (nice to have)
- Experience working with Generative AI platforms (nice to have)
- Experience with concepts in any of the following business areas: data & analytics, enterprise applications, or related IT topics (nice to have)
