Lead NPI and replacement injection mold tooling projects, manage budgets and suppliers. Collaborate cross-functionally to improve manufacturability and deploy tooling at Rockwell Automation.
Responsibilities
Lead and manage NPI tooling projects including assessment, planning, and replacement of plastic injection molds through production qualification
Drive New Product Introduction (NPI) programs and support existing production tooling initiatives
Lead cross-functional project teams and manage multiple parallel projects
Develop accurate cost estimates for parts and mold tooling, identify design alternatives, and analyze trade-offs
Evaluate mold repair requests for feasibility, cost-effectiveness, and timelines
Collaborate with Strategic Sourcing, Quality, and Production to improve tooling spend and supplier partnerships
Benchmark and technically assess external suppliers and production facilities
Partner with internal engineers and external suppliers to resolve part design and manufacturability challenges
Maintain up-to-date technical proficiency in plastics and integrate new solutions into design strategies
Manage project scope, budgets, specifications, schedules, and stakeholders through the project lifecycle
Resolve complex process issues, implement global best practices, and lead variation reduction efforts
Asset management including planning, budgeting, schedules and suppliers through implementation and product life
Requirements
Bachelor's degree in a relevant field
Legal authorization to work in the U.S. (We will not sponsor individuals for employment visas)
Ability to travel up to 10% of the time
8+ years of relevant experience (preferred)
3+ years of project management experience with global or regional scope (preferred)
PMP certification (preferred)
Lean Six Sigma certification (preferred)
Knowledge of plastic processing, injection mold tooling, and equipment procurement
Experience with CAD software applications; Pro/ENGINEER
Experience with MS Project
Experience with Enterprise Product Data Management (EPDM) systems, preferably SAP
